Take A Ride With ebus Contest Rules

The Take A Ride With ebus Contest (the "Contest") is being held by the Alberta Motor Association Travel Agency Ltd. (“AMA Travel”) and is sponsored by ebus (www.myebus.ca).

The Contest occurs every Wednesday from 9:00am until 3:30pm (each an “Entry Period”) commencing on August 1, 2012 with the last day being December 19, 2012. 

Who Can Enter

The Contest is open to all persons who reside in Alberta and are eighteen (18) years of age or older (each a “Contestant”) except for employees of Alberta Motor Association (“AMA”) and AMA’s wholly owned subsidiaries, and the immediate family members or people that reside in the same household of such persons.  No purchase is required to enter the Contest. Contestants are not required to have an AMA Membership but are required to have a Twitter account, which can be obtained free of charge at www.twitter.com. 

How To Enter

Contestants may enter the Contest (create an “Entry”) by doing the following:

  1. Following both  AMA Travel (@AMATravel) & ebus (@travelebus) on Twitter;
  2. During each Entry Period send a Tweet to @AMATravel with an answer to the question that will be posted on the AMA Travel Twitter account for that Entry Period.  There are no right or wrong answers to the question and any reasonable response shall be sufficient to create an Entry.

A new Entry is required to be submitted by the Contestant for each Entry Period.  Only one (1) Entry permitted by a Contestant for each Entry Period.   Contestants must be following both the AMA Travel and ebus Twitter accounts until at least December 18, 2012. AMA Travel assumes and all Contestants agree that the owner of the Twitter account which was used to submit an Entry will be deemed the Contestant.

The Prize

There will be one (1) prize for each Entry Period during the Contest (each a “Prize”).  Each Prize consists of:

One (1) round trip on ebus to and from one of the following destinations:

  • Between Fort McMurray and Edmonton
  • Between Edmonton and Red Deer
  • Between Edmonton and Calgary
  • Between Red Deer and Calgary

Conditions of Prize

  • Prize must be used within 30 days of being awarded to the Prize winner.
  • The Prize is non-transferable and must be used by the Prize winner.
  • Each Prize winner may book their trip in person or over the phone and when doing so must mention the Prize certificate that will be awarded under this Contest.
  • Each Prize winner must present their Prize certificate prior to departure with ebus.
  • Each Prize winner must agree to comply with all other rules and terms as found on http://myebus.ca/faqs.
  • The Prize has no cash value and cannot be refunded for cash.
  • Tickets on ebus awarded as a result of the Prize are non-refundable if the trip the tickets were issued for is missed for any reason.

A Prize must be accepted as described; substitutes by the Prize winner will not be allowed and the Prize may not be transferred to other persons. AMA Travel retains the right to replace the Prize with a different prize of equal or greater value if the original prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond AMA Travel’s control.

Selecting Prize Winners

At approximately 4:00pm immediately after each Entry Period, a random draw will be held where one Entry is randomly selected from all Entries entered during that Contest Period and declared the winner of a Prize.

AMA Travel or ebus will contact each Prize winner by Twitter, e-mail or other on-line medium. If, for any reason, it is not possible within a seventy-two (72) hour period to contact the Prize winner despite customary diligent efforts, AMA reserves the right to disqualify that Prize winner and select another Entry to determine that Prize winner.

General Terms and Conditions.

AMA Travel reserves the right to withhold the Prize or disqualify the Prize winner in the event that the Prize winner fails or refuses to comply with these Contest rules.

AMA Travel may discontinue this Contest at any time if there are no more Prizes provided by ebus.

By entering this Contest, all Contestants, regardless of whether or not they win the Prize in this Contest, consent to the reproduction, publication, use and distribution by AMA Travel of any of a Contestant’s Twitter postings in all forms and media, and in all manners including advertising, trade, display, editorial, art, advertisements, video production, exhibitions, Facebook and other website content. In giving this consent, each Contestant releases AMA and AMA Travel, its employees and directors from liability for any violation of any personal or proprietary right or entitlement the Contestants may have in connection with such reproduction, publication, use and distribution of such Twitter posting.

If, for any reason and in the opinion of AMA Travel, in its sole discretion, this Contest is not capable of running as planned or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or other causes beyond its control, AMA Travel reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest including any method of making Entries.

AMA Travel will not be responsible for, or accept any liability resulting from Entries that are delayed, lost, stolen or misdirected for any reason during their delivery to AMA Travel whether by, but not limited to, internet, cellular phone network, other on-line medium, electronic, computer hardware or software failures.

By entering the Contest, all Contestants agree to be bound by these Contest rules and release all parties associated with this Contest from any liability with respect to this Contest or any prize.

All decisions by AMATravel with respect to all aspects of this Contest are final.

In these Contest rules, words importing singular include the plural and vice versa.

These Contest rules shall be construed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta.
