Highway alert: For road condition and road closure information for highways in British Columbia please call DriveBC at 1-800-550-4997.Although all highway construction in the Mountain Parks will be stopped over the Labour Day weekend, travelers can expect higher than normal traffic volume. To help alleviate congestion and reduce wait times, Parks Canada advises visitors to avoid travelling on the Trans-Canada Highway during peak traffic hours: Westbound, September 3 after 3:00 p.m. Westbound, September 4 and 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and, Eastbound, September 6 between 2:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. There will be significant traffic pattern changes at Highway 1 and Highway 93 north. Slow down through the construction zone and pay attention to the signs.

Area Comment: Until October 31, repair work is planned at the Saskatchewan River Bridge near Saskatchewan Crossing on the Icefields Parkway, Highway 93 north, and at the 5 Mile bridge, 5 kilometres west of Banff on Highway 1.

Area Comment: On Highway 93 north, until October 31, repair work is planned at the Saskatchewan River Bridge, near Saskatchewan Crossing. There will be minor delays. Until September 15th motorists can expect minor delays on Highway 11, 15 kilometres west of Rocky Mountain House for guard rail installation. Please obey signs, message boards and flag people. Until September 15th expect minor delays on Highway 11 between Horburg and east of Hoburg for road construction. There will be one way traffic in some areas. Obey signs and flag people.
