Digital photo imaging facilities
When making an auto claim, your claims adjuster may send you to a repair shop for a digital photo imaging (DPI) estimate. At the repair shop, the damage to your vehicle will be photographed and electronically sent, along with an estimate for repairs, to your claims appraiser to review.
Once the claim has been approved, you will receive a copy of this estimate. You can then have your vehicle repaired at the repair shop of your choice, provided it is licensed and qualified to do so. You may also choose to have your vehicle repaired at the facility that completed the DPI estimate.
If asked to take your vehicle for a DPI estimate, you can go to any DPI facility near you. Be sure to call ahead for an appointment and supply the shop with your claim number.
