Credit Card Protection

Important Notice: Credit Card Protection Service ended June 30, 2011

How the service worked

As an AMA member, you could enroll your credit cards in the program, and if those cards were ever lost or stolen, AMA would immediately notify the credit card companies on your behalf. Once the companies had been notified, you were no longer liable for unauthorized purchases.

Why is it ending?

Credit card companies have increasingly refused to accept instructions from a third party, in this case AMA, calling on a card holder’s behalf to report and cancel lost or stolen credit cards.

We suspect that Credit Card companies are more stringently enforcing their privacy policies so as to be compliant with current privacy legislation. Since we can no longer consistently provide you the full value of this service, we have discontinued it as of June 30, 2011.

Your information on file

Rest assured all credit cards and related personal information, which is currently securely encrypted and stored, have been permanently destroyed from our system following protocol as of September 30, 2011.
