Course Overview
This half-day hands-on, track-oriented winter driving course teaches participants some of the most common driver response skills necessary to handle typical winter road emergencies.
This course focuses on the combination of very good visual, braking and steering skills to allow you to avoid an imminent hazard.
Time Breakdown (Class size of 14)
Introduction: 30 minutes
A brief introduction generates some course background - either winter driving or on-road emergencies.
Presentation/course overview: 1 hour
This session covers topics such as risk and risk management, vehicle and operator fitness and understanding your vehicle's language.
Vehicle inspection; drive to and from the track: 1 hour
Assembly at the vehicle and critical road-worthy inspections.
In-vehicle skills session: 1 hour 30 minutes
Consists of in-vehicle skill training with instructor (serpentine, threshold braking, simple evasive and skid recovery, manoeuvres).
