Course Overview
The Safe Performance Trailering course addresses the diverse issues surrounding trailer use. Participants will:
Learn how to properly operate trailers up to 8-metres in length.
Enhance their driving skills and awareness through an interactive classroom session combined with a hands-on in-vehicle session.
Time Breakdown (1:2 instructor-client ratio)
Hours to complete: 6.5
Classroom Session: 2 hours 30 minutes Provides background information related to equipment concerns and personal safety.
Vision test: Vision test is included during the class session
In-vehicle Session: Hours: 4 Participants work through a series of manoeuvres and exercises that test their ability and knowledge.
An AMA instructor accompanies the driver(s) during their regular drive and provides coaching, evaluation, and training.
Skills developed include:
Mirror usage
Backing
Proper turning
Residential & freeway driving.

Our Safe Performance Trailer course is also available as an interactive DVD. Employees can improve their driving knowledge conveniently, at their own pace, right in the office. Staff can review one chapter at a time, or watching the entire video all at once. Training can be worked into any schedule or safety meeting. Each DVD comes with an interactive facilitator guide and quiz.
