Our Driver Education Roots Are Deep
Every year we teach up to 10,000 new driver students, and up to 6,900 experienced and senior drivers, the skills they need to succeed on Alberta roads.
We’re passionate about the importance of driving when it comes to personal mobility. From the beginning, we’ve been an advocate for drivers and for road safety both within the province and across the country. We provide handbooks, licence prep apps, driver's guides and articles to help you make informed driving decisions.

The Edmonton Automobile and Good Roads Association (a forerunner to AMA) raised money to build a road from Edmonton to Jasper.
Aaron’s Story
Sixteen-year-old Aaron Friesen spent his summer working toward a dream he’s had his whole life: learning to drive. Sure, every teen wants the taste of freedom that comes with their own set of wheels and a driver’s licence. But Aaron’s journey is all the more remarkable because he was born with spastic bilateral cerebral palsy and has been in a wheelchair his entire life.
