2012 Renew with AMA Contest Rules
Rules for the 2012 Renew with AMA Contest (the “Contest”)
(Also referred to as Renew 1, Renew 2, Renew 3 Contest)
Eligibility
The Contest is open to all persons who are eighteen (18) years of age or older and reside in the province of Alberta or the Northwest Territories, except for employees of the Alberta Motor Association (“AMA”), and their immediate family members and all persons that reside in the same household as that person (each a “Contestant” or “you” or “your”).
No purchase necessary to enter the Contest.
How to Enter
The contest begins on at 12:01am Mountain Standard Time (“MST”) on January 1, 2012 and closes at 11:59 p.m. MST on December 31, 2012 (the “Contest Period”). The draw for Contest prizes will be held on or about January 15, 2013 at the AMA Administration building in Edmonton, Alberta. Only Entries received during the Contest Period will be eligible in this Contest to win any prizes.
One (1) entry into the Contest (each an “Entry”) will be given to a Contestant in one of two ways:
1. An Entry is automatically given to each Contestant who renews their AMA Membership before the expiry date. However, the more methods a Contestant uses, described as follows, the more prizes that Contestant will be eligible for:
Renew 1 Method – Renew your AMA Membership and sign up for our Automatic Credit Card Renewal payment option. The Automatic Credit Card Renewal payment option is a convenient way to take care of your annual membership dues. Provide your credit card information for this renewal and future membership renewals. We will continue to send out annual notification of your membership payment details as a reminder to you.
If a Contestant is already taking advantage of this payment option, the Contestant will still be recognized as using the Renew 1 Method in this Contest; or
Renew 2 Method – Renew your AMA Membership online and sign up to receive next year’s statement by email.
If a Contestant is already currently taking advantage of email statements, that Contestant will still be recognized as using the Renew 2 Method in this Contest; or
Renew 3 Method - Renew your AMA Primary Membership on or before your expiry date.
2. Alternatively, an Entry can be made manually (a “Manual Entry”) by writing to request an entry form to the Alberta Motor Association, Box 8180, Station South, Edmonton, Alberta T6H 5X9, Attention: Membership Department - Renew with AMA Contest and enclosing a self-addressed envelope bearing sufficient return postage. AMA will then send the Contest an entry form and the Contestant must return the completed entry form to the above address before during the Contest Period.
Each Contestant may only enter a total of one (1) Manual Entry into the Contest.
Winners and Prizes
There will be a total of three (3) prizes (each a “Prize”) to be won in this Contest:
First Prize- one (1) prize of a 7-night all-inclusive trip for 2 to the Occidental Grand Xcaret in the Mayan Riviera, including return airfare from Edmonton or Calgary with Sunquest Vacations.
Second Prize - one (1) prize of $1,000 CAA Dollars®
Third Prize - one (1) prize of $500 CAA Dollars®
There will be three random draws held, one for each of the First Prize, Second Prize and Third Prize. The winners of each Prize will be randomly selected from all eligible Entries. Entries may be eligible for one or more of the random draws as determined as follows:
- Entries made by Renew 1 Method are eligible to win the First Prize. Entries made by Renew 1 Method who have renewed on or before expiry date are eligible to win the First Prize and Third Prize;
- Entries made by Renew 2 Method are eligible to win the Second Prize. Entries made by Renew 2 Method who have renewed on or before expiry date are eligible to win the Second Prize and Third Prize;
- Entries made by Renew 3 Method are only eligible to win the Third Prize; and
- The Manual Entry will only be eligible for the Prize that is selected by the Contestant on the entry form provided by AMA.
To ensure eligibility for all three (3) Prizes in this Contest, a Contestant should partake in the Automatic Credit Card Renewal payment option as well as consent to receiving their statements by email.
All Entries received have an equal chance of winning. The chances of winning depend on the number of Entries received which are eligible in the random draw for a particular Prize.
The random draw for First Prize will take place first, the random draw for Second Prize will take place second and the random draw for Third Prize will take place last. Entries made by the Renew 1 Method or Renew 2 Method are eligible to win multiple Prizes in this Contest. Manual Entries are only eligible to win one of the Prizes.
AMA will contact each of the Prize winners by telephone. If, for any reason, it is not possible within a ten (10) day period to contact the Prize winner, despite customary diligent efforts, AMA reserves the right to disqualify that Entry and select another Entry by random draw as the winner of that Prize.
The winners of a Prize will be required to successfully complete a mathematical skill-testing question, and to sign a contest prize acknowledgement and release before the Prize will be awarded to them.
Details of the Prizes
The First Prize is courtesy of AMA Travel and Sunquest Vacations - 7-night all-inclusive trip for 2 to the Occidental Grand Xcaret in the Mayan Riviera, including return airfare from Edmonton or Calgary. Taxes, insurance or items of personal nature are not included. Travel must take place between January 15 and December 15, 2013. Some conditions may apply, including but not limited to blackout travel dates and substitution of destination and gateway based on 2013 flight and hotel offerings.
CAA Dollars® can only be redeemed by AMA members. If the Second Prize or Third Prize winner is not currently a member of AMA, AMA will award the remainder of such Prize after having reduced the Prize by the current price of an annual AMA Primary Membership (or an annual AMA Associate Membership if a member of the Prize winner's household is a current AMA Primary Member). If the selected winner is an Associate AMA member, the CAA Dollars will be credited in the overall Primary AMA Member's account.
CAA Dollars® as part of a Prize are stored in the AMA Primary Member's account if the Prize winner carries an Associate Membership. CAA Dollars are automatically redeemed towards the next AMA membership renewal fee. Alternatively, if a member requests, CAA Dollars can be redeemed at any time toward many AMA products and services including products available through AMA Travel Services. Some exclusions apply.
All Prizes must be accepted as described, no substitutes. All Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are subject to their conditions of use and have no cash value. The Prizes may not be transferred to any other person(s) or party without written consent of AMA, which consent may be arbitrarily withheld.
General Terms and Conditions
All Entries become the property of AMA and will not be returned.
By entering this Contest, participants consent to AMA publishing or announcing any Prize winners’ name and photograph(s), in future publicity, without permission or compensation.
By entering this Contest, Contestants automatically accept these Contest rules and release AMA from any liability with respect to their participation in this Contest or the redemption of any Prize. AMA reserves the right to withhold the Prize or disqualify any Entry in the event that the Prize winner fails or refuses to comply with these Contest Rules.
If, for any reason in the opinion of AMA, in its sole discretion, the Contest is not capable of running as planned or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or other causes beyond its control, AMA reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest without notice including any method of entry.
AMA will not be responsible for telephone, technical, network, online, electronic, computer hardware or software failures of any kind, misdirected, stolen, incomplete, garbled or delayed internet/email computer transmissions on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participating in or downloading any materials in this Contest.
In these Contest Rules, words importing the singular also include the plural.
This Contest is held and run by the Alberta Motor Association. All decisions made by AMA with respect to the Contest will be final.
Privacy
By entering this Contest, Contest participants consent to AMA using all contact information collected from the contest entry form for marketing and analysis purposes. AMA will retain personal information only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for collecting such information. AMA will not sell or redistribute personal information. Information is collected in accordance with the Alberta Motor Association Privacy.
