Personalized (vanity) licence plates
To order a personalized plate, you must be a member in good standing with the AMA, CAA or AAA. Not a member? Become a member now.

  • Find out if the plate you want is available by contacting any AMA Registries office.
  • We recommend you have two or three alternate choices, in case your first choice is not available.

Documents you need to order your personalized plate
When you come in, remember to bring:

  • Your AMA membership card.
  • One acceptable photo identification or support document.
  • A mailing address. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery.
  • The registration of the vehicle that you want to put the personalized plate on, if purchasing a plate for yourself.
Note:
  • A one-time fee covers the cost of the licence plate only.
  • Payment must be made when placing your order. Vehicle registration and renewal fees are extra.
  • Personalized plates may be ordered as a gift.
When your personalized plate arrives
  • Visit any registry office to surrender your current plate.
  • Receive stickers and replacement registration. For more information, visit Service Alberta's personalized licence plates. A service charge applies.
