Documents you need to order your photo ID cardWhen you come in person to any AMA centre, remember to bring:
- Your AMA membership card.
- Two pieces of acceptable identification.
- Proof of Alberta residency.
- A signed Parental Consent
form, if you are under the age of 18 (parent must be present for first time application).
First time applicants must supply proof of Canadian residency. |
ID cards for identification only
- ID cards are clearly marked for identification purposes only and do not entitle the person to operate a motor vehicle under any circumstance.
- Government-issued ID cards are for Alberta residents who do not or cannot hold a valid Alberta operator's licence. ID cards cannot be issued to anyone in possession of a valid driver's licence from Alberta, another province or state, or another country.
- ID cards can be used for travel within Canada.
