You should receive your birth certificate/document 7-10 days after you place your order. Birth certificates can be picked up in person if required sooner (some restrictions apply).

Types of birth certificates

  • Birth certificate with personal information.
  • Birth certificate with personal information and parentage.
    This certificate contains the names and birthplaces of the parents. When there is only 1 parent listed on the Registration of Birth, only that parent and their information will print.

Both birth certificates are:

  • 12.5 cm x 17.5 cm
  • Secure, with 24 security features to protect against identity theft, fraud and tampering.
  • Certified extracts containing information from the original Registration of Birth.

Both birth certificates contain:

  • Full name at birth
  • Date of birth
  • Place of birth
  • Sex
  • Registration number
  • Registration date
  • Date issued

What is a photocopy of registration?

Photocopies of registration are certified photocopies of original birth registrations, not the actual certificate.
