Lien search request

In order to request a lien search, you must be a member in good standing with the AMA, CAA or AAA and have a valid AMA membership number. Not a member? Become a member now.

A lien search searches Alberta’s Personal Property Registry Information System database for liens or encumbrances that have been registered in Alberta against a vehicle, personal property, individual, or business.

AMA can only search for liens registered in Alberta. To search personal property outside of Alberta, you need to contact the jurisdiction directly.

Note:

  • Search Requests that are received during the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday, will be fulfilled within 2 hour. Otherwise, the request will be completed the following business day.
  • If the vehicle identification number provided is incorrect or if the vehicle has never been registered in Alberta, you will be charged for the lien search even though you will not obtain results.
