AMA's New Driver Ultimate Program is the most comprehensive learning experience for those who have little prior driving experience, or who have limited access to a qualified coach to practice driving.

This course offers new drivers:

  • 18 hours of interactive classroom instruction. (Three hours more than Alberta regulations require).
  • 20 hours of in-car lessons (ten, two-hour sessions).
  • Proactive Defensive Driver Program (a $135 value). A classroom program to be taken six to 12 months after licensing.
  • Home, school, or work pick-up. Some restrictions apply. 
  • Choice of automatic or manual transmission (Manual transmission where available).

This course offers parents/guardians of new drivers:

  • A copy of the AMA Coaching Guide: Provides practical suggestions on how to take an active role in coaching your new driver.
  • Record of Driving Achievement: Helps parents and students track progress throughout the in-vehicle portion of the program.
