Guidelines

Sponsorship Criteria & Guidelines

AMA assesses hundreds of worthwhile requests each year and we support events that reflect the values of our organization and needs of Alberta communities. For this reason, we are selective in the initiatives we choose to fund. AMA welcomes the opportunity to work with organizations that meet all of the following criteria:

  • Are locally based in Alberta, and support the communities that AMA serves.
  • Provide valuable recognition of AMA with sponsorship benefits that go beyond the average logo placement, promotional materials, advertising and signage.
  • Provide opportunities for sponsorship activation, engagement of AMA members and involvement of AMA employees.

Sponsorship Exclusions

  • Advertising in yearbooks, handbooks, journals or event programs that are not a component of a negotiated sponsorship or partnership agreement.
  • Religious or faith-based projects, programs or organizations.
  • Travel expenses to attend events such as conferences and sporting events.
  • Support for individuals.
  • Political parties and candidates.
  • Requests outside of Alberta.
  • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion, faith or lifestyle.

Donations

AMA does not support donation requests that are not part of a negotiated sponsorship partnership. Examples of donation requests that AMA does not support includes but is not limited to requests for silent auction items, fundraising groups, charitable organizations, community events, high schools, sport teams, etc.

Process for Sponsorship Consideration

  • AMA must receive all sponsorship requests three months prior to the funding deadlines.
  • All proposals are reviewed by AMA’s Sponsorship Manager to assess suitability, feasibility and resources required (human and monetary).

Sponsorship proposals must include:

  • A description of your project and identification of the key opportunities for AMA.
  • Who the target audience of this initiative is, and who will likely be participating. Please provide a comprehensive list of benefits, including how they relate to AMA and our products and services.
  • Creative ideas as to how AMA can use this sponsorship and those benefits to connect with our members and engage our employees.
  • Timelines, including important deadlines.

Previous sponsorship support by AMA does not guarantee approval of your application, and not all eligible requests can be funded.

AMA is pleased to review your sponsorship proposal submission with a commitment to reply within four weeks of receipt.
